Assaults, thefts reported by Florence Police

Florence Police report of incidents between June 7 and 19:

Medical emergency reported at 7 a.m., June 7, at South Evergreen Street
Officers were dispatched to a medical emergency. Reporting party advised her sister was cold to the touch. Subject was located and officer pronounced subject dead. Heritage Funeral Home arrived and took possession of the deceased.

Shoplifting, reported at 9:04 p.m., June 8, at North Pinal Parkway Avenue
Officer was dispatched to a report of shoplifting. Reporting party advised a female subject had attempted to purchase a beer and when the transaction would not go through, the female subject grabbed the beer and left the store. The female was located, and she was issued a criminal citation for shoplifting and released from the scene.

Medical emergency reported at 10:14 a.m., June 9, at West Butte Avenue
Officers were dispatched to a medical call of a male subject not breathing. Upon arrival officer started CPR until Florence Fire arrived on scene and took over. Subject was later pronounced dead. His doctor was contacted, and he stated he would sign the death certificate. Family members were on scene and notified. Heritage Funeral Home responded to take possession of the deceased.

Assault reported at 8: 21 p.m., June 11, at North Pinal Parkway
Officer was dispatched to a report of an assault on staff by an inmate, not in progress. Charging review packet submitted to Pinal County Attorney's Office for determination of charges.

Assault reported at 2:03 a.m., June 12, at North Bowling Road
Officer was dispatched to a report of an assault between inmates no longer in progress. Officer will be submitting charging review packet to appropriate prosecuting office for determination of charges.

Medical emergency reported at 2:09 p.m., June 16, at West Ninth Street
Officers were dispatched to a report of a medical emergency. Reporting party advised his infant child was not breathing. Florence Fire was dispatched and pronounced the infant dead. The Pinal County Medical Examiner's office was contacted and took possession of the infant. Case is still under investigation.

Theft of wallet reported at 9:01 p.m. June 16 at North Main Street
Officer was dispatched to a report of lost wallet. Reporting party advised she had left her wallet at a local restaurant and upon realizing she left it contacted the store to advise store manager. She was advised the wallet would be placed in the safe. The wallet was not placed there and could not be  located. Officer will be submitting charging review packet to town attorney for determination of charges. 

Fire reported at 1:11 a.m., June 18, at South Bush Street
Officers and Florence Fire were dispatched to a structure fire.  All occupants of the residence were outside. Florence Fire extinguished the fire.

Domestic violence reported at 1:21 a.m., June 19, at West Sonoma Way
Officer was dispatched to a report of an assault. Contact was made with parties involved. Parties agreed to separate for the night. Charging review packet submitted to town attorney for determination of charges.
