April 17 pickleball tournament in Mesa to benefit Superstition Community Food Bank

Local health agencies are partnering with Superstition Community Food Bank to sponsor a pickleball benefit tournament to feed the hungry.

The tournament is 8 a.m.-2 p.m. Saturday, April 17, at the tennis center in Gene Autry Park, 4125 E. McKellips Road in Mesa, according to a release.

The tournament, sponsored jointly by Affordable Health Insurance, United Healthcare and Hatfield Medical Group, will be an ages 55-plus doubles event including games, music, awards, snacks and hourly raffles. Participation is open to players aged 55 and over with a donation of five or more canned goods for the food bank. SCFB will have its food truck at the site, along with volunteers to collect the food donations.

Space is limited, so those wanting to join in the fun and competition are advised to reserve space now by emailing trent@affordablehealthins.com.
