Born in 1921, Apache Junction resident Lucille Brown turns 100 on March 29.
Thirty five years ago she moved to Apache Junction from Wisconsin. She has worked dozens of years helping with the voting precincts in Pinal County, according to a release.
“She also has been a huge asset supporting and organizing activities through the years at Apache Villa. Lucille’s claim to fame? Her happy disposition,” it states.
Ms. Brown, one of nine siblings, held several jobs including working as a phone operator — the kind that had dozens of cords to connect. She was an award-winning sales lady at J.C. Penney.
“When THE Mr. Penney would come into the Wisconsin store, she always helped him,” the release states.
Ms. Brown also ran the office for her husband Harry’s tool and die company in Racine, Wisconsin.
She is the mother of two children, Richard and Ronnie; and has five grandchildren and six great-grandchildren.
