A $1,000 check was recently presented to Fire Chief John Whitney and Fire Safety Educator Tina Gerola of the Superstition Fire and Medical District.
It was the second check presented to our local fire district by the Apache Junction Mounted Rangers, a volunteer organization that donates to local causes.
These funds will go toward educating children about fire safety and fire hazards in an effort to keep our children safe.
The fire safety program extends into the schools as well as the local community.
