Packets containing the legally required documents needed to run for a seat on the Apache Junction City Council will be available at the City Clerk’s Office beginning Wednesday, Dec. 1.
The packets are self-explanatory and serve to help the potential candidate file the forms necessary to qualify for placement on the ballot, according to a release.
Forms in the packet include but are not limited to:
Statement of interest;

Political committee statement of organization;

To be eligible for the Aug. 2, 2022 primary election ballot, the completed packets must be filed no later than 5 p.m. April 4, 2022. Each candidate must submit nomination petitions containing between 705 and 1,409 valid signatures of qualified city electors. Packets which are incomplete or received after the filing date will not be accepted. The city is using the Arizona Secretary of State’s E-qual system for online signature collection.
