Alden Francis Rosbrook

Posted

The family of Alden Francis Rosbrook are saddened to share the news of his passing on April 25, 2020. “Ros” and his wife Caroline had been living in Florence, AZ after residing for over 33 years in Queen Creek, AZ. Ros was born in Albany, NY on Nov. 7, 1937. He served in The USMC from 1956-1963.

Ros was a genius at reinventing himself. As a teenager he worked at a local gas station becoming the manager at 17. After the Marine Corp he began a career with the Canada Dry Bottling Company, starting as a truck driver, moving into sales and eventually becoming Vice-President of Sales and Marketing. In 1969 he moved his family to Scottsdale, AZ opened a beauty salon and purchased a Mary Moppets franchised daycare. After selling these businesses he began working in sales for an electronic manufacturing company, getting in on the beginning of the video game industry. In 1983 with help from family, he started the “Dr Doo-Everything” construction clean-up company, which he operated until 2008.

In 1985 he and his wife moved to Queen Creek and lived next to the San Tan Mountain Regional Park on their dream property. They raised goats, chickens, rabbits, ducks and horses. He loved to spend time with all his animals who he considered family.

In 1997 he formed the San Tan Mountain PRIDE, working with the city to eradicate crime in the area and organizing regular roadside trash cleanups and recycling. He was instrumental in the protection of the San Tan Mountain Park. In 2014 he published “We Live in Queen Creek, Arizona”, on Amazon, with memories of his life and stories of what led him to Arizona. He was extremely proud of his book and often gave copies away whenever he could.

He was a dedicated husband, father, grandfather and great grandfather. Giving to anyone in need, until the very end. Helping neighbors whenever he could and treating every child like his own grandchild. He was Papa Ros to everyone, not just his family.

He was most proud of his work with Ancestry. Spending hours every day researching his ancestors and adding to his family tree. Cataloging the lives of over 2500 ancestors. Family meant everything to him. He dedicated every cheer, every drink, and every success to his mother, Pauline Fitzsimmons.

Ros was famous for always having a good story or joke to share. His ready smile made him a friend to everyone he met. He is survived by his wife, Caroline of 63 years; younger brother, Richard; children, Mark A. (Marion), Matthew E. (Cynthia), Cara L. (Ramon), Kevin W. (Lisa, deceased); 12 grandchildren; and 9 great-grandchildren.
