A New Leaf wins $65K grant to improve economic mobility

A New Leaf has been selected as a 2021 Bank of America Charitable Foundation RFP Grants for Economic Mobility recipient and is to receive a $65,000 grant.
Funds will directly support A New Leaf’s capacity to deliver a comprehensive continuum of care addressing nearly all social determinants of health related to long-term social and economic health and stability, according to a release.
“A New Leaf is proud to receive continued support from Bank of America Charitable Foundation as we work together to improve the economic mobility of individuals and families in our community. Without Bank of America’s generous support, A New Leaf would not have the capacity to meet the increased need for wraparound services to the most vulnerable among us. These funds will help A New Leaf support thousands this year to gain life-changing safety, stability, resiliency, and independence,” Michael Hughes, CEO of A New Leaf, said in the release.
About A New Leaf
For 50 years, A New Leaf has served the community in the Phoenix metropolitan area. This year, A New Leaf will change the lives of more than 30,000 people who are the most affected by or vulnerable to:
Homelessness;
Domestic and sexual violence;
Mental and physical chronic health conditions; and
Financial instability.
A New Leaf’s emergency shelter programs serve approximately 1,650 adults and children each year. The support of Bank of America Charitable Foundation will make an immediate impact for vulnerable families and individuals in crisis by providing safe shelter, basic needs, counseling service, and financial empowerment.
