Eighty students in the Chandler Unified School District earned the Arizona State Seal of Arts award, according to the district.

The Arizona State Seal of Arts is awarded to students who have demonstrated high levels of proficiency and commitment to Arizona Arts Education Standards through personal expression and creative experiences.

Students focus on one or more artistic disciplines: visual arts, theatre, music, dance, and media arts. In addition to completing four credits of fine arts study, students also demonstrate participation in 80 hours of arts extra-curricular experiences and a rigorous capstone project. Students who meet all the requirements for this program receive a special seal for their diploma.

2020-2021 school year, 37 CUSD students earned the arts seal, according to the district.

2021-2022 school year, 80 CUSD students earned the arts seal - the third highest in the state. Perry High School students earned the most fine art seals of any Chandler Unified School District high school, according to the district.

More than 130 CUSD seniors have already indicated they plan to apply for the fine arts seal this spring, according to the district.
