From more than 120 films submitted, the 2022 nonprofit Worldwide Women’s Film Festival will screen 89 short films, documentary films, features, documentary features, web series and music videos during its fourth annual festival.
The event is scheduled for Feb. 18-20 at the Harkins Shea 14 Theatres, 7354 E. Shea Blvd. in Scottsdale, according to a press release.
Event founder and president Kim A. Huenecke is thrilled to be back in person with safety protocols after canceling the 2020-21 event due to COVID-19, the release said.
“We are encouraging everyone to wear a mask,” said Huenecke in the release. “We will have extra masks and hand sanitizer available for filmgoers.”
Huenecke notes the festival shows films with a woman in at least one key creative role of writer, producer, director, cinematographer, editor and composer.

Volunteers are needed in various capacities such as ushers, ticket takers, film programming, registration, poster distribution; helping after-party set up and tear down and a host of other tasks, according to the release, noting volunteers get to see one free film.
Sponsors include Panavision, which will again donate a camera package valued at $60,000 to the winner of the “Best Cinematography award”; Phx Entertainers - Empowering Entertainers; Chronic Behavior; Joy Bezanis Graphic and Web Design; Instaprint; Harkins Theatres; The Megaw Theatre & Actors Studio, Inc CA/AZ with il Capo Pizzeria the After Party sponsor on Friday and Saturday nights.
WWFF also received a grant from AZ Humanities, which supports innovative community-based projects, added the release.

Tickets range from $15 for specific film blocks, to day passes for $40-$100 to a VIP All Festival VIP Pass and Filmmaker Breakfast for $230, noted the release.
