Whitehead: Thank you Scottsdale voters

Posted

Dear Scottsdale voters:

My sincerest thank you to all that cast their ballots in the August primary. It is an incredible honor to have earned enough votes to win outright and I will not have to compete in the November run-off.

The support that I received throughout this election cycle from residents led to this early victory. Rather than an 11-month campaign, we won the election ahead of schedule and under budget.

Scottsdale is a community like no other. Our residents are smart, engaged, energetic, kind, and truly focused on community. Listening to residents is a fail-safe path to success and I’ve appreciated your guidance over the last four years. With another term approved... keep it coming!

I want to congratulate my colleague Councilwoman Kathy Littlefield. She has earned a third term and Barry Graham and Pamela Carter will advance to the November run-off election. A warm congratulations to both. I also want to thank and share my appreciation for candidates Daniel Ishac, Tim Stratton, and Raoul Zubia.

Over the summer, we all participated in three candidate forums. The forums allowed us to share ideas, listen to each other, and form relationships. Yep, politics can be positive, issues can be discussed in a civil manner, and Scottsdale showed how to do it.

Again, thank you. I am enthusiastic about all the possibilities for Scottsdale and looking forward to turning those into realities. Representing Scottsdale on the City Council is a job that I love doing every day!
