Scottsdale’s Miracle League of Arizona cancels spring season

Posted

The Miracle League of Arizona, an inclusive and adaptive baseball program for children and adults with special needs, has announced cancellation of its spring season due to the ongoing coronavirus crisis.

“While I understand how disappointing this is for all Miracle Leaguers and their families, this decision is in the best interest of public health, including our hundreds of wonderful volunteers, fans and, most importantly, the inspirational players, many of whom have weakened immune systems,” Program Director Drew Soicher said in a prepared statement. “The 2020 Miracle League of Arizona All-Star Game is still currently scheduled for Saturday, May 2, when play will hopefully resume.”

More than 500 players and volunteers participate each season at the Miracle League of Arizona in north Scottsdale, which provides a safe and fun baseball experience for children, teens and adults with disabilities or special health care needs.
