67th Annual Parade and Trail’s End Festival returns

The 67th Annual Scottsdale Parada del Sol Parade and Trail’s End Festival returns to Scottsdale in 2022 --- keeping the beloved tradition alive.

Typically held the second weekend of the month, the events are scheduled to take place on Saturday, Feb. 5, 2022.

The parade, officials say, follows a route from Drinkwater Boulevard along Scottsdale Road finishing at Brown Avenue and Indian School Road, with the Trail’s End Festival taking place immediately following.

All festivities happen where locals call, “Old Town Scottsdale.”

“We’re extremely proud to present the 67th Annual Scottsdale Parada del Sol Parade and Trail’s End Festival in 2022 and to be a part of keeping this tradition going strong in Scottsdale,” said Jose Leon of the Scottsdale Charros, which now manages the Parada del Sol Parade and Trail’s End Festival.

“This event is not only a lot of fun for our residents around the Valley, it attracts thousands of visitors and serves as a positive economic boost for the city and its many local businesses.”

The Scottsdale Parada del Sol Parade and Trail’s End Festival serves as a celebration of the evolution of Scottdale — honoring its past, present and future. The parade typically includes approximately 150 entries including colorful floats, mounted horse-riders, horse-drawn carriage, marching bands, wagons and stagecoaches representing many cultures from Mexican to Native American to Arabian to Western.

At the culmination of the parade, the Historic Old Town District sets the stage for a massive Western-style block party with a kids’ zone, food trucks, merchandise vendors, and multiple stages with live entertainment including concerts from today’s popular bands to traditional performers.

The theme for the 2022 event is “Back in the Saddle” and Dan Harkins is set to serve as the parade’s Grand Marshall.
