Scottsdale local Palestina becomes broker at ABI Multifamily

Posted

ABI Multifamily, a multifamily brokerage and advisory services firm, has promoted Scottsdale resident Tom Palestina to broker.

Mr. Palestina began his career at ABI a year ago, working as an intern while attending Arizona State University. He was then brought on full time as a research analyst, where he deepened his knowledge of the multifamily real estate industry while finishing school and getting his real estate license, according to a press release.

ABI broker Dallin Hammond, who has been with the company three years, says it has been rewarding to watch Mr. Palestina move up in the company and pursue his desire to become a broker.

“Tom is a great colleague, and he’s also a good friend,” Mr. Hammond said in a prepared statement.

“When he first told me of his interest in real estate brokerage, I suggested he first learn the ropes by working on our data research team. I’ve been mentoring him over the past year, and it’s clear he thrives in our team atmosphere and is ready to apply all the knowledge he’s gained as our newest broker.”

Mr. Palestina says brokerage comes naturally to him, as he’s been around it all of his life. His father has been an industrial real estate broker in New Jersey for 35 years and his brother has been a retail real estate broker for eight years.

The new broker says it’s the relationship-building with clients that he particularly enjoys, along with the atmosphere at ABI Multifamily.

“I knew ABI was where I wanted to be, because of how welcoming and genuine every person in every sector of the company is,” Mr. Palestina said in a prepared statement. “I also really enjoy that brokers here collaborate on many different types of projects and deals, something that is pretty rare in this industry.”

Outside the office, Mr. Palestina can be found playing, watching and coaching ice hockey. He played competitive ice hockey for 15 years and coaches with the Arizona Coyotes “Little Howlers” Program. He also worked in marketing with the Arizona Coyotes Hockey Development Team while in college.

“I now take great pride in coaching and teaching young hockey players about the game and I am planning to coach my own youth hockey team in the future,” he said.
