Scottsdale Fiestas Navideñas to celebrate Feast of Our Lady of Guadalupe Festival

Lore Media & Arts, The Old Adobe Mission & Grandeza Mexicana will present Scottsdale Fiestas Navideñas Festival celebrating the Feast of Our Lady of Guadalupe and annual “Miracle of the Roses” reenactment at the Old Adobe Mission in Old Town.
Celebrate the feast day of the Virgin de Guadalupe to commemorate the day she appeared to Juan Diego in 1531 near present day Mexico City through devotional and elaborate altar installations, according to a press release.
The free festival will be “on the sacred grounds and surrounding area of the Old Adobe Mission with more expanded and elaborate altar displays.”
Schedule:
From 6:30 to 11:30 p.m., Saturday, Dec. 11 — Fiestas Navideñas will feature an outdoor stage with live holiday music and celebratory performances for the Virgin de Guadalupe including a special Las Mañanitas presentation.
From 2 to 3 p.m., Sunday, Dec. 12 — The annual Miracle of the Roses Reenactment of the story of Tepeyac Hill will presented. The pageant begins at 2 p.m. and will be followed by an intimate devotional celebration inside the Old Adobe Mission followed by a devotional intimate celebration until 6 p.m.
Scottsdale Fiestas Navideñas unites world class artists and the local community, the release said, to create a vibrant cross cultural experience.
Folk-art designers from the State of Oaxaca Department of Culture and Arts will also present a new devotional series of altar installations for our Lady of Guadalupe.
In addition to the annual “Miracle of the Roses” intimate pageant the event includes a new one-night evening concert celebration with live music, dance performance presentations from groups within the valley, Los Angeles, and Mexico City.
“The multi-day Feast of Our Lady of Guadalupe devotional celebrations in Old Town Scottsdale will serve as a community homecoming with cultural festivities to celebrate and honor the historical roots of the Old Adobe Mission,” said Lore Media & Arts Spokesperson Robert Ramirez in the release.
