Scottsdale COVID-19 cases reported by ZIP code

The number of new positive COVID-19 cases in Scottsdale has increased by 121 in one week, according to numbers mapped to the city’s nine ZIP codes.

In total, 5,975 cases of COVID-19 mapped to Scottsdale’s nine ZIP codes were reported by the Arizona Department of Health Services on Sept. 28.

Compared with numbers last week — 5,854 — there have been 121 new cases over the seven day period.

More than 90% of cases were mapped to the address of the patient’s residence. If the patient’s address was unknown the case was mapped to the address of the provider followed by the address of the reporting facility, according to the ADHS.

The ZIP code of 85255 had a noteworthy increase of 43 cases in one week, numbers show.

Data available through ADHS shows cases per ZIP code are reported as:

  • 85257: 1,127 cases (up 13);
  • 85251: 1,458 cases (up 27) ;
  • 85250: 336 cases (up 3);
  • 85258: 491 cases (up 11);
  • 85260: 909 cases (up 5);
  • 85259: 422 cases (up 9);
  • 85255: 916 cases (up 43);
  • 85266: 177 cases (up 7); and
  • 85262: 139 cases (up 3).

For most people, the new coronavirus causes mild or moderate symptoms, such as fever and cough that clear up in two to three weeks.

But for some — especially older adults and people with existing health problems — it can cause more severe illness, including pneumonia and death.
