Russell Wallace Larson

Russell, son of Arnold and Sara (Erickson) Larson, was born on March 27, 1926 in Seymour, Wisconsin. Russ went to be with his Lord Jesus on September 20, 2022.
Russ was brought into the Kingdom of God through the water of Holy Baptism on May 24, 1926 at St. John Lutheran Church, Eau Claire, Wisconsin.
He then enlisted in the US Army Air Force after graduating from high school, in 1944. He served as the ball turret gunner in a of the combat crew in a B24; honorably discharged in May of 1946.
He then enrolled at Stout Institute in Menomonie, Wisconsin and graduated in June, 1951 with a Bachelor degree. During his time at Stout Institute, he was invited to a Sadie Hawkins dance by his future wife, Isabel Ann Benedict. They married on August 26, 1950 at First Baptist Church in Darlington, Wisconsin.
After teaching and coaching football, he began working full time for Benkowski Builders. In 1970, he moved his wife and family of six to Phoenix, Arizona and began his construction company – Ru-ben Construction.
Russ was preceded in death by his parents Arnold and Sara; and three brothers, Arvid, Stanley and David.
Those who are left behind and sorrow at his death, but rejoice at his entrance into heaven are: Russ’ wife of 72 years Isabel; His children Rebecca (James) Carretto of Norfolk, NE, Mark (Debbie) Larson of Clarinda, IA, John (Marilyn) Larson of Littleton, Co, Daniel (Molly) Larson of Chandler, AZ, Bruce (Cheryl) Larson of Tempe, AZ, Beth (Frank) Gawdun of Tempe, AZ. Also one brother, Gordon Larson of Eau Claire, WI; one sister, Janice Beguhn of Burnsville, MN. Two sister-in-laws, Doris (Benedict) Hicks and Janet (Benedict) Fritz, both of Freeport, ILL. And 14 Grandchildren and 34 Great Grandchildren.
Memorial Service at 11 am, Thursday, September 29, Fountain of Life, Lutheran Church, Sun City, AZ.
In lieu of flowers, donations to the Phoenix Rescue Mission.
