Local Jehovah’s Witnesses share message at Phoenix Open

Independent Newsmedia
Jehovah’s Witnesses attended the Waste Management Phoenix Open with the hopes of sharing the Bible’s message with attendees.
Approximately 300 volunteer ministers made themselves available to share the Bibles message over the course of the event. They directed people to the religion’s official website, where people can read, view or download the Bibles message on hundreds of different topics in over 1,000 languages.
Mobile carts and displays were used to share free Bible-based literature focusing on “How to have a happy family life,” according to a press release.
Some of the messages shared included, “How to keep peace with your relatives,” “Raising considerate children in a me-first world,” “What if I’m failing at school?” and “How to be a good listener.”
“Families are facing such big issues … everyone is looking for comfort from somewhere, the Bible offers just that,” Sergio Diaz, city overseer of special metropolitan public witnessing program in Arizona, said in a prepared statement.
The main tent was in the Free Speech Zone near the Will Call pickup. There were videos, Bible-based literature and home Bible studies offered to anyone visiting the event.
Literature displayed were available in 10 languages (American Sign Language, Braille, Chinese, English, Hindi, Japanese, Korean, Portuguese, Spanish and Tagalog).
“With so many families attending the Phoenix Open this week, we want to share a positive message,” Jamie Dunjey, regional spokesman of the U.S. Branch of Jehovah’s Witnesses, said in a prepared statement. “We all want a happy family and we believe the Bible provides wonderful advice on how to be happy in all aspects of life.”
