Kubiak: Integrity, character still matter in Arizona politics

Posted

At the age of 18, I received a nomination from my Congressman to attend the US Air Force Academy.

I took an oath, serving 30 years in an Air Force uniform. During those years I kept my political opinions largely to myself. But in the most important election in my lifetime, I cannot remain on the sidelines.

As a resident of Arizona’s 6th congressional district, I am embarrassed to be represented by David Schweikert.

Like me, he took an oath to serve the country — but he broke it. The most bipartisan action taken by Congress this year was the House Ethics Committee unanimously reprimanding Mr Schweikert for 11 — ELEVEN! — violations of ethics rules. His willful actions to misuse his office erased any trust or respect I might have for him. He is an embarrassment to Arizonans, and it is our duty to hold him accountable.

Hiral Tipirneni also took an oath, one she upheld.

As an ER physician, she tirelessly served everyone who came through the doors. I trust she will serve all constituents of the 6th CD too. She’s committed to public service, to all of us.

I hope you join me in voting for Hiral because integrity and character still matter.
