Kimley-Horn snags $1M City of Scottsdale contract extension

Posted

Due to timely, high-quality work for Scottsdale, Kimley-Horn and Associates will receive another contract extension worth up to $1 million.

On Feb. 18, the Scottsdale City Council authorized a one-year contract extension with Kimley-Horn for on-call intelligent transportation systems engineering services for capital improvement projects.

The one-year contract is to not exceed $1 million, and will be used for intelligent transportation system engineering services need on an on-call basis for city projects.

This contract is the third of three possible one-year options allowed; the original contract was for two years with flexibility to add the three one-year options.

“The use of these types of contracts allows the city to engage the services of the most-qualified engineering firm to provide the necessary services for multiple projects that are being designed by city staff, in a cost effective and efficient manner,” a city staff report states.

“Since approval of the initial On-Call ITS engineering services contract in Feburary of 2016, Kimley-Horn and Associates has provided timely, high quality work for the city.”

The award of this contract does not obligate any funding, the staff report states, as funds will be obligated as work orders are awarded for specific tasks.

Kimley-Horn is a design and planning engineering consultant firm with offices across the United States.
