Junia “June” Dorothea Fisher Hoffman

Posted

Sun City, AZ -  Junia left this life on August 10, 2021, just one month before her 106th birthday.  She was born in 1915 in Pratt, Kansas to Chester Harry Fisher and Lula Hope Gould Fisher.
June enjoyed an active young life with her sister Ruth and brother Harry, both of whom preceded her in death.
In 1934, June married Claude Edgar “Bud” Hoffman who, after 63 loving years of marriage, preceded her in death.  They lived in Pratt until 1977 when they moved to Sun City, Arizona.
June was a lifelong natural athlete. She began playing tennis and golf as a young adult and continued playing golf until age 95. Throughout her life she enjoyed vigorous walks each morning and still walked up to a mile every day until near the end of her life. June was a good bridge player, an active member of Grace Bible Church, and enjoyed a social life that would have exhausted an average person.
Her warmth, acceptance, and encouragement endeared her to both friends and family. Even after 105+ years we were not ready to let her go.
She is survived by her daughter, Sally Ann Hoffman Carlisle (James) of Des Moines, Iowa, and son, Dr. William Edgar Hoffman (Cindy) of Mission Hills, Kansas. In addition, June has 10 grandchildren, 19 great-grandchildren, 10 great-great-grandchildren, and one dear great-grandchild, Teddy, who preceded her in death.
Interment will be held at Green Lawn Cemetery in Pratt, Kansas.
In remembrance of June, please donate to your favorite charity and forgive any grudges that you may be carrying.
