Iconic Fairmont Scottsdale Princess resort invites guests to experience the magic of a dozen Decembers

12th annual Christmas at the Princess festival to feature new and old attractions

Posted

Christmas at the Princess, a six week festival held at the Fairmont Scottsdale Princess, is set to open for the 12th consecutive year.

The AAA Five Diamond resort becomes the most festive place this side of the North Pole during its annual Christmas at the Princess, beginning Tuesday, Nov. 16 through Jan. 2, 2022.

Sponsors for this year include BMW North Scottsdale, Barrett-Jackson, Stuffed Puffs Marshmallows and Cox Media.

Guests will experience that town center holiday feel seen in holiday movies, where people hug a little longer, smile a little more and share the joy of the holidays with those they love.

This year’s event will feature all the well-loved attractions from past years, such as the 6,000 square-foot Desert Ice skating rink, the extravagant Lagoon Lights display on the resort grounds and the Princess express trains that take guests and visitors throughout the property and lights show.

Some new traditions to experience this year include The Village where people can sled down a 120-foot snow mountain, Twinkle Town, The Lodge — a comforting craft-inspired bar and kitchen as well as a Christmas Wish Forest where families can complete a unique and “magical” activity.

Also checking in are the resort’s holiday friends like the lovely Princess Noel, a huggable Yeti named Shivers, the squishable walking s'more Graham, plus Peppermint Penguin and Selfie Elfie each bringing their own special charm from the North Pole.

They can be seen each night with the opening welcome ceremonies at 5:00 p.m., through the closing ceremonies at 9:00 p.m.

Additionally, the Christmas Shoppe allows guests to take the memories of Christmas at the Princess home with one-of-a-kind Christmas gifts, stuffed animals, pajamas for the entire family or this year’s commemorative ornament.

Specialty spa treatments like the Hot Toddy for Your Body and the Perky Peppermint manicure or pedicure will be available throughout the festivities.

Twinkle Town, a magical land filled with twinkling lights, delectable light bites and beverages, allows guests to take in incredible sweeping views of the resort around cozy fire pits and features the newly added and kid-friendly Polar Glide Ice Slide.

For guests looking to stay at the Princess, there are several seasonal packages that can be purchased that include perks like resort credit for food, beverage and the spa along with VIP access to lines and admission included for rides and attractions.

The resort makes use of advanced dining reservations due to limited capacity at restaurants on the grounds.

Memorable dining experiences range from Michael Mina’s Bourbon Steak to Toro Latin Restaurant & Rum Bar and the iconic La Hacienda by Richard Sandoval.

A socially distanced Christmas brunch will be available beginning at 1:00 p.m. on Christmas day. For those who would prefer to enjoy their meal at home, a take away family brunch kit is also available.

To book either on property or take away meals, call 480-585-2694.

Express pass event admission to Christmas at the Princess is complimentary for registered hotel guests and $18 for all non-hotel guests to ride the attractions including the Princess Express Trains, Snow Mountain Ice Slide, Polar Glide Ice Slide, the Chair Lift Ferris Wheel, Lolli Swings, and the Christmas Carousel.

Parking is not included in the price of general admission.

If dining at the resort’s signature restaurant, visitors can receive complimentary admission and half-off valet parking with a $75 minimum spend at any of the resort's signature restaurants, however reservations are required.

General admission includes access to the Enchanted Plaza  four-story musical tree and video show, the Princess Express Train, a walk-through experience of more than 6 million Lagoon Lights, the Nativity Garden, S’mores Land, Winterland and Twinkle Town.

Ice skating, photos with Santa, shopping, parking, dining and spa are priced separately.

Non-resort guests must pre-purchase wristbands at ScottsdalePrincess.com.
