Grimaldi’s Pizzeria helps fight to end childhood hunger

Throughout September, in honor of Hunger Awareness Month, guests who dine at any Grimaldi’s Pizzeria can donate to No Kid Hungry, a charitable organization to end childhood hunger in America by ensuring all children get the healthy food they need every day.

One in four kids in Arizona face hunger daily, and in the wake of the coronavirus pandemic, more families are facing poverty and struggling to feed their children, according to a press release.

To provide support, Grimaldi’s Pizzeria has partnered with Share Our Strength’s No Kid Hungry for the 10th year to raise funds, awareness. For every $5 donated at Grimaldi’s Pizzeria restaurants, up to a total of $25 per visit, guests will receive a bounce back card matching the donated amount to use on their next visit.

All proceeds from the fundraiser will benefit No Kid Hungry. All Valley Grimaldi’s Pizzeria locations will participate, except the Grimaldi’s Pizzeria To-Go location at Scottsdale and Shea, the release said.

“Due to the pandemic, millions more kids face hunger each day and the impact is absolutely devastating. Childhood hunger is a solvable problem that we’ve been committed to addressing for ten years now,” says Eric Greenwald, Grimaldi’s Pizzeria president in the release.

“We hope that our ongoing partnership with Share Our Strength’s No Kid Hungry annual campaign both raises money and awareness on what starving children face daily, not knowing when or where their next meal will come from.”

Grimaldi’s Pizzeria is one of thousands of restaurants nationwide to support Share Our Strength’s September No Kid Hungry campaign. The organization relies on the support from local businesses. For several years the nonprofit has partnered with many restaurants, food banks and school districts. Every $1 donated to No Kid Hungry can help provide up to 10 meals for a child.

“Seeing the impact that Grimaldi’s can have in the Arizona communities is an honor,” says Greenwald. “Our guest participation means a lot to us and we’re thankful to them every day.”

Grimaldi’s dining rooms and outdoor patios have reopened. Guests can also place carryout orders online, by phone, or delivery orders at grimaldispizzeria.com as well as third party services.
