The Arizona Diamondbacks has announced the 33-game spring training schedule, featuring 15 home games and two road games at Salt River Fields at Talking Stick.

The 11th season at the shared spring training facility with the Colorado Rockies, on Salt River Pima-Maricopa Indian Community land near Scottsdale, according to a press release, the D-backs officially open its 24th Spring Training on Feb. 27 with a home game against the Rockies at Salt River Fields.

The D-backs have 10 games against the National League West rivals and home games against Chicago Cubs and Los Angeles Angels of Anaheim, among others, noted the release.

Salt River Fields at Talking Stick is the first spring training facility to receive a gold certification from the U.S. Green Building Council’s Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design Program.

The facility has had 157 sellouts since 2011 and the D-backs and Rockies has drawn more than 300,000 fans at Salt River Fields eight times, the only MLB complex to accomplish the feat.

The complex has received more than 40 accolades and honors from national and local publications. Among recent awards given to Salt River Fields at Talking Stick are “Spring Training Ballpark of the Decade” by Ballpark Digest, “Best Spring Training Facility” by Arizona Foothills magazine for the sixth consecutive year and “#1 Spring Training Facility” by Concierges magazine, noted the release.

Salt River Fields is the first Spring Training facility built on Native American land, according to the release.

Owned by the Salt River Pima-Maricopa Indian Community, the 140-acre site near the Pima-Loop 101 Freeway and Talking Stick Way consists of separate training facilities and clubhouses accommodating each team as well as an 11,000-seat ballpark featuring a “unique” roof structure, which offers fans in the cross aisle lots of shade.

With a heritage of hospitality, the Salt River Pima-Maricopa Indian Community has been home to the Akimel O’Odham (Pima) and Xalychidom Piipaash (Maricopa) people for more than 4,000 years.

Salt River Fields at Talking Stick is a signature property within the Talking Stick Entertainment District, which is also home to Talking Stick Resort & Casino, Talking Stick Golf Club, Topgolf, Medieval Times, Butterfly Wonderworld, iFLY indoor skydiving and much more.

Ticket sales at Salt River Fields will be determined and announced at a later date.
