The Scottsdale Gallery Association and The Friends of the Scottsdale Public Library, which raises money to support the library’s special programs, have partnered to present “Clue: Art + Literature Trivia Scavenger Hunt,” at 6:30 p.m. on Thursday, Oct. 14.

The specially-themed progressive Gold Palette ArtWalk, leads guests through an evening of traveling “Trivial Pursuit,” according to a press release, inviting art and literary enthusiasts with a new one-of-a-kind themed event.

The Clue: Art + Literature Trivia Scavenger Hunt takes place with participation by SGA member art studios and galleries throughout the Scottsdale Arts District, along Main Street from Scottsdale Road to Goldwater Boulevard and north of Indian School on Marshall Way to 5th Avenue.

“We’re pleased to partner with The Friends of the Scottsdale Public Library to present this fun and engaging trivia night that encourages both art lovers and literary aficionados to work together to find the answers to our ‘clues,’” says Scottsdale Gallery Association President French Thompson in the release.

“Part of what makes Scottsdale so unique is the high level of cultural experiences available to our residents and we think this will be one of those that people won’t soon forget.”

Throughout the evening, attendees along the Scottsdale Arts District will notice clues or questions posted on the front window of participating galleries, according to the release.

Each clue is "intended to intrigue and entice" through a question about a well-known artist, many with ties to Arizona and or Scottsdale in particular.

Guests are encouraged to enter the gallery to find a stand that will provide the answer to the clue.  About 20 galleries are participating in the progressive trivia night, the release adds.

During the event, the Friends of the Scottsdale Public Library will be at the Casa des Artistes Plaza, with a booth featuring giveaways, information about group membership as well as library membership, ways to support the organization, a prize wheel, gently used books for sale and more.

The Gold Palette ArtWalk attracts the finest art in Scottsdale including 28 galleries and two museums — Scottsdale Museum of Contemporary Art and Western Spirit: Scottsdale’s Museum of the West.

The Scottsdale Gallery Association hosts its weekly ArtWalk from 7 to 9 p.m. on Thursdays. The city of Scottsdale and the SGA also presents eight Gold Palette ArtWalk events per year featuring a theme, activities, demonstrations and more.
