Celebrating local history: Scottsdale Fashion Square event honors milestones

Local leaders gathered at Scottsdale Fashion Square on Jan. 14 to host a celebration honoring community nonprofits who have made an impact on the state.

Additionally, Scottsdale Leadership unveiled a new exhibit, which will be on display in the Apple Wing of the mall, celebrating 35 years of Scottsdale-area history.

In honor of Scottsdale Leadership’s 35th anniversary, the exhibit is filled with images and quotes that commemorate the past three-and-a-half decades of Scottsdale’s progress as a destination city. The exhibit is presented by Scottsdale Leadership, the Ray Silverman Family Foundation and the city of Scottsdale.

During the community event, Arizona Fashion Square awarded a combined total of $25,000 to six distinguished charities via their participation in the Shop It Forward community program, according to a press release.

From Oct. 15-Dec. 15, community organizations earned points from qualified purchases made by its supporters, total points earned translated into a share of the total prize fund.

Additional information on the Scottsdale Leadership exhibit and Shop It Forward Community Celebration can be found by visiting fashionsquare.com.

The exhibit is now on display at Scottsdale Fashion Square.
