Arrest made in Scottsdale murder case

The Scottsdale Police Department has arrested 28-year-old Edward Nichole Hughes on felony charges related to his involvement in the death of 29-year-old, Scottsdale resident, Julian Gion Franco Gonzales.

On May 23, Phoenix police discovered the victim deceased at 1200 Galvin Parkway, officials say.

The Phoenix Police Department began the initial inquiry; however, evidence was discovered that linked the case to a Scottsdale residence. On May 25, Scottsdale police took over the investigation.

The suspect, Edward Nichole Hughes, is a known acquaintance of the victim, officials say.

This case is still active, and police officials say they are continuing to follow up on evidence, tips and information.
