30th annual NiteFlite fundraiser for children raises more than $600,000

The Scottsdale Active 20-30 Club hosted its 30th annual NiteFlite events in November 2019, raising just over $600,000 for more than a dozen local children’s charities including #LoveUp Foundation, Playworks Arizona, and Phoenix Children’s Hospital.

During the three day event, the club welcomed the return of one of the longest running charity golf tournaments, NiteFlite Golf Tournament at McCormick Ranch Golf Cub. The event offered participants a day of golf, food, drink and the opportunity to win prizes, according to a press release.

This year’s tournament introduced new entertainment, with a NiteFlite golf party tent with drinks from Red Bull, White Claw, and Hensley Beverage Company as well food from Cold Beers & Cheeseburgers and D’Lite.

There were also corn-hole, pop-a-shot and break-the-glass competitions, and a slap shot contest presented by the Phoenix Coyotes street team.

“We had so much fun celebrating the 30th year of this great event raising funds for Arizona’s children,” NiteFlite Chairman, Ben McRae said in a prepared statement. “We are thrilled that our local charities will be receiving the much needed money and resources to positively impact lives.”

More than 1,500 people attended the formal gala at the W Scottsdale Hotel on Nov. 16, to enjoy food and drinks from local restaurants, view live entertainment and win prizes during the night-long raffle.

The Scottsdale Active 20-30 Club is now gearing up for its next big fundraiser. Brokers for Kids and Agents Benefitting Children will take place at Scottsdale Stadium on Friday, April 3, with a full day Olympiad Championship. The event is a contest involving residential real estate agents and commercial brokers in a fundraiser that culminates with a full day of head-to-head games between teams.

The money raised will go to help charity partners, The Care Fund and Boys Hope Girls Hope. The Care Fund’s mission is to financially and resourcefully support Arizona families who endured financial hardship while experiencing extended illness or injury to their children.

Boys Hope Girls Hope is a non-profit that provides scholarship to underprivileged kids in both community-based and residency-based programs, ensuring a good start towards a college education.
