I have a better suggestion. Why don't you just mark your calendar for when the Lost Dutchman Marathon is and don't plan to go anywhere until after Noon that day. That way the traffic will be clear from the Marathon and the Renaissance Festival. Don't you think that would be a better solution than re-routing the marathon just for you to get out on one Sunday from 6AM to Noon, if you should decide to?

The Lost Dutchman Marathon has been in this area for 20 years and brings a lot of people to the area, which boosts our economy, the same as the snow birds do. People train for this marathon for months and I believe it is one of the most challenging Marathon with the most beautiful serene landscape. The route is very thought out to give the right landscape at the correct time. You can't just re-route it off US 60 because you or others are a little inconvenienced.

I actually have another suggestion. Instead of staying home during the Marathon, maybe you could volunteer at a water station to hand out water or just be there to cheer the runners on.
