Silver Valley Elementary School receives $60K child care grant

Posted

The Arizona Department of Economic Security has given a $60,300 child care COVID-19 grant to Silver Valley Elementary School in the Queen Creek Unified School District.

Nearly 2,000 child care providers across the state received an award notice, ADES said in a memo to QCUSD and the school, 9737 E. Toledo in Mesa.

Grant awards will be disbursed over a three-month period, with payments beginning Sept. 15.

“A monthly report to DES will be required to verify that your facility is open and providing child care services. At a minimum, the following data will be reported monthly: full-time enrollment, number of openings and grant award expenditures,” according to the memo.

The grant was accepted as part of a Sept. 15 QCUSD Governing Board vote on a consent agenda with other items.
