A new business that provides services for seniors to allow them to age in their homes has opened in Queen Creek.
Queen Creek Mayor Julia Wheatley, the Queen Creek Chamber of Commerce and local businesses were on hand when Senior Helpers QC celebrated its grand opening on Tuesday. The business is located at 40975 N. Ironwood Drive, Suite B105.
Senior Helpers has more than 300 franchises across the country. The Queen Creek franchise is owned by Chandler Weight and Kyle Harris.
"Ninety percent of seniors want to stay in their home as they age,” Senior Helpers QC co-owner Harris stated in a press release. “We come in and give them the availability to age safely in their own home, but what's really important and that sets us apart from other care agencies is our training programs.”
Senior Helpers QC’s caregivers will be trained out of the Ironwood Drive location. Along with training, the caregivers will also undergo drug screenings and background checks.
The business offers Alzheimer's, Parkinson's and dementia care, as well as companion, personal and transitional care. Senior Helpers QC also provides care for veterans, those with chronic diseases, surgery assistance, sitter services, respite care and end-of-life support care.
"From a personal standpoint, we both have parents who are aging, so we've seen the importance of high-quality care firsthand. When we were looking into services for them, we did not find a whole lot of services and options, and that is what led Kyle and I to start talking and thinking about opening our own location here in Queen Creek,” Weight stated in the release.
The first step in the process is a free, initial in-home care assessment with a Senior Helpers consultant. From there, Senior Helpers QC designs a personalized care plan.
“I always tell people if senior care doesn't come from a personal place, you aren't going to last long,” Harris stated in the release. “For my case, it is carrying on the family legacy of my dad and what he wanted to build."
