School district offering curbside pick-up of free meals for children 18 and younger

Queen Creek Unified School District is offering curbside pick-up of free breakfast and lunch meals for all children 18 and younger.

Effective April 3, the food is available 10 a.m.-noon Monday, Wednesday and Friday by age groups at two sites: the Boys and Girls Club QC Community Center, 22407 S. Ellsworth Road; and Eastmark High School, 9560 E. Ray Road in Mesa, according to a release.

Multiple meals given

Meals, which will be provided until schools resume, are on the following days:

  • On Mondays, children who are 18 and under will receive breakfast/lunch for Monday and Tuesday.
  • On Wednesdays they will receive meals for Wednesday/Thursday.
  • Friday will include Friday breakfast/lunch as well as meals for Saturday/Sunday.

"This means that this Friday, April 3, when visiting us for curbside meals at either the Boys and Girls Club or Eastmark High School, the student will receive meals for Friday, Saturday and Sunday.

Delivery time is still 10 a.m.-noon," the release states.

Meals will be provided without charge and are the same for all children regardless of race, color, national origin, sex, disability, or age and there will be no discrimination in the course of the meal service.

With this free meal service:

  • Children must be present in the vehicle to receive a meal.
  • Walk-ups are welcome.
  • No paperwork is required.
  • Adult meals will be available for purchase --- breakfast, $2 and lunch, $3.
  • Meals should be consumed off-site.
