Queen Creek’s vice mayor appointed to the MAG economic development committee

The Maricopa Association of Governments Regional Council appointed Queen Creek Vice Mayor Dawn Oliphant to the MAG Economic Development Committee.
On the committee, Oliphant will collaborate with mayors, council members and business leaders from across the region to develop opportunity-specific and action-oriented initiatives that foster and advance infrastructure, furthering economic development opportunities.
“I am honored to serve on the MAG EDC as a representative of Queen Creek,” Oliphant stated in a press release. “Whether growing our own businesses here in Queen Creek or seeking new investment in the region, we all play a role on one another’s success. Utilizing organizations like MAG as a forum for collaboration, coordination and research on additional tools to make the region more competitive, results in wins for everyone.”
The appointment comes at a critical time when MAG is poised to provide preliminary approval on its next 25-year regional transportation plan, known as Momentum. The selected projects will play a key role in driving economic development opportunities for Queen Creek and local governments throughout the Maricopa region.
