Queen Creek has started a new capital-improvement project. It includes improving Chandler Heights from Via del Arroyo to Recker and Power Road from Brooks Farm to Chandler Heights.

Chandler Heights and Power will be widened to two lanes in each direction with center turn lanes, bike lanes, sidewalks and utility modifications. The work will be completed in phases, starting with Chandler Heights from Via del Arroyo to Power. All phases of the project are anticipated to be complete in early 2022, according to a release

“Transportation improvements continue to be a top priority,” Queen Creek Mayor Gail Barney said in the release. “This is one of several roadway improvement projects currently under construction and we anticipate a number of additional projects starting construction in the near future. We appreciate the community’s patience as we continue to make these important infrastructure improvements.”

Roadway projects under construction include:

  • Rittenhouse – 213th St to Riggs
  • Queen Creek & Signal Butte
  • Chandler Heights & Power

Roadway projects in design, nearing construction include:

  • Meridian - Queen Creek to Germann
  • Meridian – Cherrywood to Combs (phase 2)
  • Ocotillo – Sossaman to Hawes
  • Ocotillo – Signal Butte to Ironwood
  • Queen Creek – Ellsworth to Crismon

“As roadway improvements continue, please slow down, allow extra time for travel and be courteous of motorists and work crews,” the release states.
