Queen Creek Olive Mill, 25062 S. Meridian Road, was recently awarded the local chamber of commerce's 2019 Business of the Year Award.

The recognition is presented annually to a high-standing chamber member by the Queen Creek Chamber of Commerce, according to a release.

Queen Creek Olive Mill accepted the award on Sept. 19 at the 10th Annual Business Awards dinner, which was held at the Encanterra Country Club.

The Business of the Year award is given to chamber members who provide excellence in customer service, have experienced progressive sales and marketing growth, offer innovative products or services, demonstrate economic support of the Queen Creek area business community and participate in community volunteerism, the release states.

“Our 'little olive mill that could' is exceptionally honored and proud to accept this award by the chamber of commerce. It means a lot to be recognized by our home community like this,Perry Rea, owner of the Queen Creek Olive Mill, said in the release.

The Queen Creek Olive Mill has a 100-acre farm and more than 7,000 olive trees. The company dedicates its success to its farm practices and the products they offer, which exemplify their dedication to the environment and the health of their customers, according to the release.

Guests can shop for an array of locally made olive oils, balsamic vinegars, olives and other local favorites. Visitors can tour the olive farm and learn first-hand how olives are pressed into olive oil, have family recipes at the Italian-inspired eatery that uses local and garden-sourced ingredients and grab a cup of coffee at Superstition Coffee, the release states.

Among the mill’s already existing amenities, the Rea family plans to add olive groves, a restaurant, brewery and a boutique bed and breakfast hotel.
