Queen Creek Artist Wins Arizona Watercolor Association’s Best of Show

Posted

Queen Creek visual artist Kathy Delumpa Allegri received Arizona Watercolor Association’s Best of Show award at the Spring 2021 Juried Exhibit, "Life on Paper," on April 15, 2021 at Shemer Art Center in Phoenix.

Chicago artist Tom Lynch, the show’s juror, presented Allegri the event’s top award.

Her entry “spoke to (Lynch) as pure art from the heart, beyond skilled techniques.”

Allegri painted “A Peek At the Pond,” a watercolor of the large pond at the Gilbert Riparian Preserve.

An artist and educator since 1992, Ms. Allegri paints Impressionist landscapes on location. Inspired by nature, she focuses on creating images of hope and healing. She and her husband, Bill, are retired and moved to Arizona in 2019 to be near their daughter and family, who live in Chandler.

This art exhibit will be on display at Shemer Art Center, 5505 E. Camelback Road, Phoenix from April 15 to May 20. Hours are Tuesday through Saturday from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m.
