J.O. Combs Unified creates alumni association for Combs High School graduates

Posted

The J.O. Combs Unified School District has formed the Combs High School Alumni Association.

Created under the umbrella of the Combs Education Foundation, the alumni association will be comprised of former graduating classes from Combs High School. It  also will have a governing body.

Joining the association will allow members of graduated classes to raise funds for future reunions, support scholarship opportunities for current Combs High School students and have exclusive access to potential perks and discounts.

Classes currently represented in the alumni association include those who graduated from Combs High School between 2012 and 2020. The governing body is comprised of a president, vice president, secretary, treasurer and two class representatives.

"The creation of this association is especially timely given the 10-year reunion is approaching for our inaugural graduating class of Combs High School," said Greg Wyman, superintendent. "This is an exciting time for our alumni to collectively come together to not only share and celebrate their accomplishments, but also support future generations of Combs High School students."

Combs High School graduates who are interested should update this online information form with their current contact information.

Parents, community members and alumni are  asked to help share this form to connect additional classmates. After submitting the online form, alumni will receive additional information regarding the upcoming 2021 campaign and opportunities for involvement.

The Combs Education Foundation is a 501(C)(3) organization designed to support the students and staff of the J.O. Combs Unified School District. Since 2016, the foundation has provided critical educational opportunities for students, educators and families of the J.O. Combs Unified School District.

Last year, even with the COVID-19 school closures, the foundation was able to provide nine scholarships totaling $8,000 for graduating seniors. In addition, the foundation has provided an employee recognition dinner and awards evening titled Excellence in Education.
