The Superstition Mountain Republican Club will be holding two meetings monthly --- on the second and fourth Thursdays --- through the election in November.

Jerry Walker, who is running for the Central Arizona College Governing Board from this area, is to attend the Thursday, Jan. 23, meeting. The five-person CAC board of county residents selected from specific geographic areas has a president annually chosen by the board members to lead the organization.

Pinal County Supervisor Todd House and Mayor Jeff Serdy, who will both be running for District 5 supervisor, will also be at the meeting.

The Pinal County Supervisors duties are crafting a budget providing revenue for individual departments and elected offices. Also to establish the county property tax rate; fill vacancies in county and legislative offices, other boards and commissions; pass resolutions and enact ordinances and regulations as authorized by state law, according to the release.

The club will also be discussing the first three articles of the Constitution --- Article I refers to the Legislative Branches of Government, Article 2 is the Executive Branch and Article 3 is the Judicial Branch, the release states.

The club meets 6:30-8 p.m. Thursday, Jan. 23, at the Village Inn, 575 W. Apache Trail in Apache Junction. A social hour is 5:30-6:30 p.m. for a the opportunity to share a meal and fellowship, according to a release.

"The SMRC welcomes everyone seeking to be a more informed person within their community. We hope to see all of you at the meeting for an evening of fellowship and information," the release states.
