6 eateries in downtown Chandler prepare to open this week

As restaurants are slowly starting to open their doors this week for dine-in service, three restaurants in the heart of Chandler will be firing up their kitchens for the first time in nearly two months.

Additionally, three more eateries will expand from take-out and delivery service to dine-in as well, according to a release.

The six are in Downtown Ocotillo, 2475 W. Queen Creek Road in Chandler, a mixed-use live, work, play development created by Spike Lawrence Ventures that features all locally owned restaurants.

The Living Room, Rock Lobster and CHoP have been closed since the state’s restaurant restrictions were put in place. Press Coffee, Cherish Farm Fresh Eatery and Humble Pie remained open offering take-out and delivery.

The Living Room and Rock Lobster will open Wednesday, May 13, for dinner service. The ownership team will monitor the situation to determine when they can resume daytime hours as well, the release states.

For the time being, CHoP will be reopening on May 13 for take-out only. Following social-distancing guidelines, at CHoP guests may enjoy an adult beverage in the lounge, but food will only be available for grab-and-go.

“We’re very excited to welcome our loyal guests back into our restaurants," restaurateur Tom Kaufman, who spearheads the ownership group that operates the three local establishments, said in the release. "However, we’re being very diligent and proceeding with caution to ensure the appropriate measures are in place for the health and safety of our staff and customers.”

All three restaurants are following a very detailed list of protocols for sanitation, protection and social distancing. The new procedures include temperature checks at the start of each shift for every employee, expanded cleaning and sanitation procedures throughout the entire restaurant, the requirement of employees to wear FDA-approved face masks or face shields, appropriate spacing between diners. Management is happy to provide the safety guidelines to any guest who inquires.

Cherish Farm Fresh Eatery and Press opened for dine-in service Tuesday, May 12.

Humble Pie is opening Wednesday, May 13.
