Tonight: Steak 44 donates proceeds to Phoenix Heart Ball

Mastro family donates dinner funds to charity

Posted

Beginning at 5 p.m. Monday, Oct. 18, Steak 44 in Phoenix will donate 100% of the proceeds from 200 dinners to benefit the American Heart Association and Phoenix Heart Ball, which will be held in November.

For 61 years, the Phoenix Heart Ball has helped to advance the lifesaving mission of the American Heart Association (AHA), a mission that has impacted the lives of countless men, women and children in the Valley.

From humble beginnings, the AHA has grown into the nation’s oldest and largest voluntary organization dedicated to fighting heart disease and stroke, according to a press release.

“It is a tremendous privilege to be able to support the American Heart Association/Phoenix Heart Ball,” said Jeffrey Mastro, co-founder of Steak 44, Ocean 44 and Dominick’s Steakhouse. “This organization does life-saving work for our community and we are extremely humbled to be able to raise as much money as possible for them and support everything they do.”

Jeffrey Mastro, alongside his brother Mike Mastro and father Dennis Mastro are serving as the Honorary Chairs of Phoenix Heart Ball.

Mastro said heart disease has touched his family personally. His grandfather Dominick passed away from a heart attack at the age of 57. His father had quadruple bypass surgery also at the age 57 and is a wonderfully healthy man today due in part to the advancements of heart research, the press release stated.

“We are so proud of what the Phoenix Heart Ball is doing to raise money, awareness and to advance treatment and research in heart disease, as well as supporting other organizations and health problems that can lead to heart disease. On behalf of my father and brother, thank you for all your efforts,” Mastro said.

Then on Monday, Oct. 25, Dominick’s Steakhouse will donate 100% of the proceeds from the first 200 dinners to Make-A-Wish Arizona.

Make-A-Wish Arizona helps fulfill the wishes of children with a critical illness between the ages of 2.5 and 17 years old. Make-A-Wish was founded and headquartered in Phoenix.

Dominick’s Steakhouse invites guests to enjoy dinner knowing every dollar spent from the first 200 dinners that night, except taxes and tips to the servers, at the restaurant that night through food, liquor and beverage sales will go directly to Make-A-Wish Arizona to grant wishes for kids dealing with critical illnesses.

Make-A-Wish Arizona also has a special place in hearts of those who run the restaurant. Chief Brand Officer, Oliver Badgio of Dominick’s Steakhouse, Steak 44, and Ocean 44 is part of the Make-A-Wish Arizona Board of Directors and says there is no better way to help Valley children than to attend these powerful fundraising nights.

“Make-A-Wish Arizona is continuously granting very special wishes for children who are dealing with critical illnesses all across. All of us here at Dominick’s Steakhouse are so very proud to hold these fundraising nights because we know this organization relies solely on philanthropy to be able to grant these wishes and we are so proud to support their efforts,” said Badgio.

Dinner service will begin at 5 p.m. each night with the bar opening at 4 p.m.
