St. Vincent de Paul announces the grand opening of its newest thrift store on the border of Phoenix and Scottsdale at 4857 E. Greenway Rd., Suite B.

The community is invited to celebrate the grand opening on Wednesday, Nov. 11, by shopping and enjoying special discounts to commemorate the occasion, which coincides with Veterans Day.

For the holiday, veterans will receive a 25 percent discount on all items from Nov. 11-18, according to a press release.

SVdP thrift stores generate funding for the nonprofit’s valleywide services, including food pantries, dining rooms, services for the homeless, and charity medical and dental clinics.

By supporting the thrift stores, shoppers help bring charity services to families and individuals in need, the release said.

“St. Vincent de Paul’s goal through the thrift stores is to take care of our customers, donors, volunteers, staff and ultimately the people we serve, with kindness and dignity,” said Director of Retail Operations Mike McClanahan in a prepared statement.

“We look forward to celebrating the grand opening with our new neighbors and forging new relationships. Please join us and don’t forget your face masks!”

The new store – open from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. Tuesday through Saturday – is one of six SVdP thrift stores in the Valley, the release said, noting that it will have furniture, clothing, artwork, appliances and other household items.

Drop off donations are accepted from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. at the back of the store, or a pick-up may be scheduled at www.stvincentdepaul.net/schedule-a-pickup.
