Sky Harbor shows holiday season gratitude to customers

Sky Harbor Airport is celebrating the season with 12 Days of Gratitude, beginning Monday.

The event, which includes a variety of activities for airport officials to show Sky Harbor customers their appreciation, runs from Monday, Dec. 5, until Friday, Dec. 16.

“We’re always looking for ways to enhance the experience for our travelers," Chad Makovsky, director of aviation services, said. “I'm excited that this holiday season, we'll be offering a variety of activities to acknowledge and thank our customers, while also providing them the opportunity to pay it forward by helping others."

Over the 12 days, customers will find activities taking place both pre-and post-security in terminals, according to a release.

There will be opportunities to win prizes, take photos with Sky Harbor mascot Amelia the Airplane, participate in an art activity and donate items for a canned food drive, among others.

Airport staff will hand out chocolate coins and thank you cards to passengers throughout the event and present a passenger each day with a Phoenix Sky Harbor gift bag, according to the release.
