Rudolph “Bud” Wolff

Posted

Rudolph died on April 9, 2020 in Peoria, AZ. He was 98 years old.

Bud was born on August 24, 1921 in Barber, MT to Rudolph and Alfaretta Wolff. He grew up in Camas, WA with his sister, Harriet. He sometimes liked to skip school and go fishing and arrowhead hunting on the Washougal River.

Bud traveled the world while serving in the Merchant Marine during World War II. Upon returning home he became a cattle rancher in Washougal, WA, where he met and married the love of his life, Dorothy Greer.

He and Dorothy eventually retired to Omak, WA, where he followed his passion for horses, raising Appaloosas and Paints. He enjoyed trail rides, and rarely passed up an opportunity to share his love of horses and riding with his grandchildren.

Bud and Dorothy moved to Sun City, AZ in 2001. After Dorothy’s passing, Bud took up leather crafting at the Sun City Leathercraft Club and met his friends early every morning at McDonald’s for coffee, often arriving before they opened and conversing through the morning.

Bud was patriotic, hard-working, compassionate, kind and funny. He enjoyed western books and movies, and anything that featured horses. He loved his family, leaving behind 5 children, 8 grandchildren and 3 great-grandchildren. He will be missed.
