Purcell: Tax hikes will hurt U.S. manufacturers

Posted

PW Athletic Mfg. Co., founded in 1919, is proud of our history.

Proud of our fantastic employees we are privileged to employ and of all they have contributed to the community over the past 100 plus years we have been in business.

In an effort to deal with supply chain issues we now find ourselves making large investments in new facilities, new manufacturing equipment and additional jobs to completely eliminate the need to bring products from China and other overseas countries, only to learn the federal government is considering tax hikes on manufacturers.

The loss of jobs and economic activity will be great should Congress move forward with these tax hikes.

In fact, it would directly impact our investments in the facilities, equipment, and jobs we need to fix the supply chain problems. It’s time to pursue policies that level the playing field and make it easier to grow and expand right here in America, rather than support policies that disadvantage manufacturers and other businesses leading Arizona and America’s economic recovery.

We urge our federally elected officials, including Sens. Sinema and Kelly, to reject these proposed increases.
