Koger makes herself ‘Right at Home’

Posted

New owner with Right at Home, Jaime Koger, is not only passionate about caring for her loved ones but for yours who need in-home senior care.

From children to seniors, she has experienced caring for the most vulnerable populations often overlooked.

Ms. Koger recently became owner of the senior care franchise.

Among the most at-risk group for COVID-19, Ms. Koger ensures that her trained caregivers who provide in-home care assistance for seniors and disabled adults to maintain their independence, has implemented precautions for the client and caregiver to take to keep them safe during the pandemic.

Keeping them well includes a wellness check before the caregiver enters the house; caregivers wearing masks, gloves and thoroughly sanitizing surfaces in the home to disinfect while there; the caregiver and client practicing social distancing if the client does not need personal care; and her staff is trained through the respiratory protection program to protect employees from contracting COVID-19.

The in-home care company is operated through independently owned and operated home care franchisees like Ms. Koger who has a process to assess and understand people’s loved one’s situations to recommend customized plans for their particular needs.

Detailed recommendations are outlined about the services that can be tailored to benefit the seniors. She and her colleagues leave notes for the family to detail what was done for their beloved family member.

Similarly, Ms. Koger, a north Phoenix native, shares some brief notes with the Independent about herself and her ambitions for Right at Home in north Phoenix.

Age: 43

Where I live: Phoenix, AZ

What I like most about living here: Almost all of my family is here and I love the sunshine!

What I do for a profession: I own Right at Home North Phoenix/Scottsdale. We provide in-home care and assistance to seniors and adults.

What are the plans for Right at Home in North Phoenix and precautions to ensure seniors’ safety? We are currently following all CDC guidelines for safety and cleanliness and our caregivers are using PPE on each shift, in each home. Our caregivers know the importance of working with higher-risk adults and take it very seriously.

What other profession would you have chosen and why: I wanted to be an adult probation officer because I thought it might be exciting.

Activities/ clubs/organizations involved in: I am involved in PTO at my kids’ school and I am a certified substitute teacher in the Deer Valley School District.

Favorite charity/volunteer activity and why it deserves support from others? Any charity that helps children in foster care. There are overwhelming amounts of children in the foster care system that get forgotten about.

My No. 1 suggestion to new residents looking for ways to get involved in their community: Contact youth and adult organizations that need volunteers!

My family makeup including kids, pets if any: I have a husband, two kids, and a dog.

Where did you matriculate: I graduated from Grand Canyon University in 2000.

People who inspire me: People who aren’t afraid to put themselves out there and work hard to achieve their goals.

My advice to today’s youth: Work hard and do your best but also try to relax and don’t stress too much about the future.

Describe your passion for helping others? I’ve always loved helping people. I grew up very blessed and had foster kids as siblings and learned at a young age the importance of helping kids in need.

Additional information of interest about yourself: When I’m not working I’m hanging with my kids or traveling!
