Peoria youth get the opportunity to Shop With A Cop, drive-thru edition

Posted

The Peoria Police Department has announced the Peoria Police Officers Association’s annual Shop With A Cop event from 6 to 10 p.m. Friday, Dec. 11.

This event is organized and brought together by the fundraising efforts of the P.P.O.A., along with support of several community partners and the Peoria Police Department.

Shop With A Cop allows police department employees to give back to children from the local community by providing gifts of all kinds for them and their families for the holiday season.

This year will be a drive-thru version, where pre-selected families will drive through an array of holiday-themed areas without ever leaving their vehicles.

Each child was asked for a list this year and officers and employees shopped for all the kids and will deliver the gifts during the holiday parade. All COVID precautions will be in effect for all staff and attendees.
