Peoria resident new Westernaires Chorus music director

A Peoria resident has taken over as music director for the Westernaires Chorus of Sun City West.

Dan Ryan has been contracted as music director by the Westernaires Chorus of Sun City West, according to President Ken Kunze.

A Peoria resident who earned a bachelor's in music at ASU, Ryan has directed school, church and community choruses for 40 years, including several barbershop quartets in international competition.

He succeeds Sylvia Collins who retired after six years.

One of the oldest chartered Sun City West clubs, the 85-member mixed chorus will conduct its first fall rehearsal in the Back 40 of the Stardust Theater, 8 a.m., Sept. 8.

Sun City West residents are invited to attend and, if interested, audition to perform in its Dec. 2-5 shows at the Stardust Theater.

For more information, contact President Ken Kunze, 402-366-7377, or visit https://westernaires.scwclubs.com/.
