Peoria resident soaks up build-to-rent lifestyle

Aislinn “Aisi” Ellis is a professional organizer who arrived in the West Valley when her mom was stationed at Luke Air Force Base over 30 years ago. Ms. Ellis has successfully managed her business, called “Ask Aisi” during the pandemic by working remotely, solving problems for small businesses and residential clients via technology and organizing their environments to foster the best productivity.

As a resident of Christopher Todd Communities On Happy Valley in Peoria, smart home features have been paramount to this entrepreneur, who also co-wrote a book called “The Lemonade Stand: From Sour to Sweet, Moving Ahead on Multiple Businesses Fronts.”

“Pivoting to an entirely remote work environment, the smart home technology has been particularly important so that I can confidently conduct client meetings via Zoom or video chat. The smart gated entry, cameras, remote door locking and climate control via my phone gives me peace of mind, allowing me to focus on the things that bring the greatest value to my life, which right now is developing and nurturing several business partnerships,” Ms. Ellis said.

Christopher Todd Communities on Happy Valley is now fully leased and was Peoria’s first luxury build-to-rent community to open. Located near the Loop 303 and Happy Valley Parkway, this community is comprised of one- and two-bedroom single-story smart homes, and also features an on-site fitness center, resort-style pool and spa, event lawn, and serenity park.

“Our communities typically lease up twice as fast as traditional multifamily communities because of the branded experience that is woven into the fabric of community experiences,” said Todd Wood, CEO of Christopher Todd Communities which, is headquartered in the Phoenix metro area.

“The most unexpected thing I’ve discovered about this community is how easy it is to manage my new home. There are several apps that run my home, which I find easy to navigate,” Ms. Ellis noted.

She can even check on her goldfish Atticus and Aaliyah while she is away. And, the climate control helps save her money.

“It detects when the household is empty and optimizes the temperature for savings on electricity. The doorbell camera allows me to check on my packages and see when my groceries are delivered. My favorite feature is the keyless door entry. I love living here and it has made my life so much easier to manage,” she said.

Ms. Ellis has even put her organizational skills to work in her new home, adding a tension rod in the laundry closet to transform the laundry experience, along with adding a cart in between the included full-size washer and dryer to accommodate her soaps, maximizing space.

With the weather getting nicer now, she plans to enjoy her backyard and the pool more and meet more of her neighbors.

“I’ve always wanted to live in a community where people weren’t afraid to get to know each other and that’s where I feel like I live now,” she said.
