Peoria offers ‘Treebate’

Peoria is offering a new tree planting rebate program -- “treebate.”

Peoria water customers can earn $50 for planting an approved tree species. For more information, visit www.peoriaaz.gov/rebates.

The city of Peoria is committed to sustainability and building a healthy community forest, according to a news release.

Not only do trees provide valuable shade, but they also help improve air quality, the local watershed, native wildlife, and if planted properly, they can reduce energy use at home.

If the right tree for the right place is used, residents can maximize these benefits and still have a drought tolerant landscape.
