Peoria Fire-Medical Department receives re-accreditation

Posted

For the third time the Commission on Fire Accreditation International, governed by the Center for Public Safety Excellence, has awarded the Peoria Fire-Medical Department accredited-agency status.

During the virtual accreditation hearing, May 18, Peoria Fire-Medical Department received a unanimous 11-0 vote for approval by the commission and is one of 250 departments nationwide to receive the prestigious internationally accredited-agency status.

The accreditation is a voluntary process requiring the fire-medical department to evaluate the quality of its fire and emergency medical services using internationally recognized industry standards in order to develop a path for continued growth.
