Peoria Community Center receives accessible fitness equipment

Posted

Time to get fit!

The Peoria Community Center has received five new pieces of accessible exercise equipment including two Sci-Fit Recumbent Steppers, a Sci-Fit Pro 2 (recumbent cycle/upper body ergometer), a Concept 2 Rowing Ergometer and a Life Fitness Elliptical.

The recumbent steppers and cycle are step-through designs. This makes it easier for anyone, regardless of ability, to step in and take a seat.

These machines also feature removable seats and ramped platforms.

The fitness equipment includes technology that allows wheelchair users to connect to their various assistive devices.

The community center also retained a rower and elliptical for residents who are able and looking for a more intense cardio workout.
